News Flash

My latest clock – “Aion-2” is named after the Hellenistic deity associated with time. It is my second clock design using a double compound pendulum to regulate its speed and accentuate the visual kinetics of its motion.

Aion-2 is a wall-mounted wooden skeleton clock constructed primarily from walnut wood with brass and steel components.

Unlike many of my previous clocks, this clock’s beat is set by a double compound pendulum that gives the mechanism a two-second beat. The clock is wound by a small battery-powered electric motor that lifts the “remontoire” (winding) arm on the winding wheel.

Aion measures approximately 36 inches tall (from the top of the pendulums to the bottom of the clock), 21 inches wide, and 9 inches deep.

Please see the Purchase page for details of this clock and others that are available for sale, or contact me to discuss commissioning a clock.

Torsional Pendulum Wall Clock Electra-4

The latest iteration in the Electra family of clocks – “Electra – 4”. This skeleton clock features a “canoe” shaped walnut frame and a 22-inch diameter great wheel.

Electra – 4 is a wall-mounted wooden skeleton clock constructed primarily from walnut with brass and steel components.

Like my other clocks, this one’s beat is set by a torsional pendulum that gives the mechanism a slow rhythmic motion. It has been designed for customers or situations where winding the clock every day is inconvenient. The clock is wound by a small battery-powered electric motor that lifts the “remontoire” (winding) arm on the winding wheel.

This is the largest clock currently offered, measuring approximately 50 inches tall (from the top of the clock to the bottom of the torsional pendulum), 22 inches wide, and 10 inches deep.

Please see the Purchase page for details of this clock and others that are available for sale, or contact me to discuss commissioning a clock.

Torsional Pendulum Acrylic Table Skeleton Clock - Horus

Torsional Pendulum Acrylic Table Clock – Horus

This is my first clock made from acrylic plastic, a total departure from all my other clocks. It is based on the design for the Horus Wooden Clock, with minor modifications to accommodate easily available acrylic plastic sheet thicknesses.

Gravity Escapement Skeleton
Clock - Osiris

Gravity Escapement Clock – Osiris

With a goal to design a wooden clock with greater kinetic motion than my recent clocks, this clock is a significant departure from my earlier designs. The clock uses a Denison double three-leg gravity escapement and conventional pendulum rather than the torsional pendulum used on my recent clocks. This type of escapement was developed in the 1840s by lawyer and amateur horologist Sir Edward Beckett Denison (later Lord Grimthorp) for Big Ben (more correctly, the Great Westminster Clock).

This clock is an experimental prototype and not for sale.
